About

Welcome! I am an experienced leader, speaker, writer coach and consultant. Yes, that is a lot of hats, but themes I am working on through all these methods are the same, I care deeply about helping people and organisations grow in connection (with each other, with their unique purpose and with their audiences) clarity, and courage. I am motivated by deep values, and I want to help others uncover their own and live by them. I am an experienced and compelling communicator across a range of platforms and a wide range of audiences, including the New York Times, BBC One, Sky News, the World Service, and writing in Prospect Magazine, The Times, UnHerd and The Financial Times. My Substack (morefullyalive@substack.com) is a Bestseller in Philosophy

Since 2017 I have hosted The Sacred, a podcast, events and visual content brand which creates space for a wide range of guests to reflect on their deepest values. I hope we are modelling courageous conversations across difference, and contributing to a growth in empathy.

For ten years I was Director of Theos, the UK’s leading religion and society think tank, where I was obsessive about building a healthy and human team culture alongside a commitment to excellence. I was repeatedly accredited by Best Companies as a 3* (world class) manager, so I can legitimately say it paid off. I am the Chair of the Board of Directors of Larger Us, an organisation working to help change-makers bridge divides rather than deepening them, transform relationships rather than defeat enemies. We recognise that achieving these things is about psychology as much as politics.

I spent the first part of my career working across the BBC in television and radio, contributing to programmes including Beyond Belief and the Moral Maze, as well as Radio 3 and 4 documentaries. I am passionate about addressing the dearth of real wisdom in public life, building empathy across our deep differences and the way spirituality can help individuals and societies flourish. I have a masters in Theology and the Arts, read a lot of poetry and detective fiction, like to cycle, cook and garden and live in an intentional Christian community in South London with my family.
